Thrifted Thursday // Large-Scale Industrial as Art

Do you remember when I mentioned using typesetter drawers as art in this post? Well, here's your chance to get 5 (5!!!) for $100. That's a lot of unique pop for very little money.

//via CraigsList//

These beauties are bigger than the drawers you typically see; at 17" wide and 32" high they've got fabulous presence (similar to the scale of the pieces in the image at the top of the post) and look to be in great shape; all they need is a healthy hose-down (I"d suggest popping off the backs for more dimensionality) and a quick wipe-down with Howard Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish and you've got a seriously-beautiful, large-scale art installation. Placed side-by-side over a sofa or a bed or along the wall above a desk or credenza they would make such a gorgeous statement.

If you're not in the Boston area and love this idea, try typing "typesetter", "drawer", "printing drawers" into the CL, eBay or search box; I bet you'll find some options (although probably not as inexpensively).
